This one is just easy to use! If you're a beginner, you'll get better curls with this than with the Dyson. It automatically draws in your hair, giving you defined curls with zero hassle.
In this video, we review the best multistylers on the market and share our hands-on experience with popular models from Dyson, Care Air, Remington, and BaByliss. Best in Test | Tested on Long Fine Hair | 8-in-1 Multistyler
When you first unbox the Care Air 2.0, it feels quite premium. The packaging is glittery and elegant — it gives off a luxury vibe. That said, Dyson takes things to the next level. It comes in a beautifully designed storage case, where everything has its place. It’s not just pretty, it’s practical — something you can leave out on your bathroom counter without clutter.
But honestly? Is that worth paying over €250 more for?
For most users — especially those focused on results — the answer is probably no. If your goal is gorgeous, long-lasting curls with minimal effort, the Care Air actually delivers better results, particularly for beginners. Dyson requires a bit more learning and technique, whereas the Care Air just works straight out of the box. It's intuitive, easy to master, and gives beautiful results fast.
That said, we understand why some might pay extra. Dyson’s case is smartly designed, acting as a proper organizer. The attention to detail — from hair type–specific app guides to automatic pauses and cooling — makes it feel luxurious and thoughtful.
But if you dial down the luxury and focus on real performance, the Care Air 2.0 holds its own. No, it doesn’t cool automatically or pause between curls — but neither does a regular curling iron. And honestly? That’s fine.
Here’s the key point:
Care Air isn’t a cheap knock-off — it’s its own thing, and it works.
The Care Air 2.0 truly earns its 8-in-1 multistyler label. It comes with the most styling attachments in our test — and they’re all genuinely useful:
It also features four heat settings and ion technology, which helps reduce static and creates a smoother finish. At just 450 g, it’s light enough to use without wrist strain, and the 2-meter cord is sufficient for most styling setups.
We tested a wide range of multistylers, but only two offered true automatic curling: Dyson Airwrap and Care Air 2.0.
All others — regardless of price — required manually wrapping hair around a heated barrel, much like a traditional curling iron. This demands both hands, technique, and more heat exposure.
With Dyson and Care Air, it’s a different story. Both automatically draw in your hair and wrap it effortlessly around the barrel — all you need to do is press a button.
What’s the secret? The Coanda Effect
Both stylers use the Coanda effect — an aerodynamic phenomenon where air follows a curved surface and gently pulls hair along with it. Dyson has patented the concept, but in real-world use, Care Air mimics the effect impressively.
In manual tests, Care Air wrapped hair faster and more accurately than the Dyson. That’s a huge win for beginners or those new to multistylers.
One important difference:
We used the 35 mm barrel to create large, soft curls. From start to finish, styling a full head of long fine hair took just 13–15 minutes.
By comparison:
But do the curls last?
Yes — and better than expected.
Many stylers produce curls that flatten within 30 minutes. The Care Air 2.0 gave us curls that lasted all day, with gentle waves still visible the next morning.
We also tested its volumizing and straightening functions. The large round brush (65 mm) was excellent for root lift — it felt like a salon blowout. The straightening brush didn’t flatten like a flat iron but tamed frizz and added polish. Ion tech made a noticeable difference in static reduction.
Care Air 2.0 comes with more accessories than any other model in the test — eight in total. Dyson typically includes six.
And these aren’t filler tools. Each head has a clear purpose:
Having so many options means you can use it for a variety of looks – from curls to straight hair, from volume to waves. It’s a great buy if you want one device that can do it all, without having to invest in multiple separate tools.
Yes — but they’re minor.
Compared to Dyson’s automatic features and slightly more premium feel, you notice the difference — but not in the results.
Yes — especially if you want beautiful curls at the best price point in its class.
It doesn’t require a learning curve. It delivers consistently great results. And it’s incredibly easy to use — even for first-timers.
We recommend it if you:
The Care Air 2.0 isn’t just a Dyson alternative — it’s a powerful, capable product that stands on its own. That’s why we named it Best in Test.
It combines ease of use, impressive results, and unmatched versatility — all without compromising on quality.
Because it strikes a rare balance between price, performance, and usability. It automatically wraps hair, creates beautiful curls, and comes with more attachments than any other model we tested — all for less than half the price of the Dyson Airwrap.
Absolutely. The Care Air 2.0 was the easiest multistyler to use in our test — especially for those with no prior experience. You don’t have to struggle to get your hair to hold the curl — it just works. You do need to manually count the seconds and activate the cool shot, but it’s quick and easy to get the hang of.
It can get quite warm on the highest setting, especially during longer sessions — but fortunately, it's easy to control. You can choose between four temperature levels, and the cool shot function works well to finish your styling and set your curls in place.
